Patcher
This is how you get SuperFreaker: the patcher is part of the mod, not a separate tool. Bring your own official MicroFreak firmware, pick your packs and download your SuperFreaker build. It is made in your browser, on a desktop computer, from your copy. Your firmware file is never uploaded.
Don't update your MicroFreak's firmware until the compatibility table says ✅. A new official version can arrive before we've ported to it. Keep your own copy of the official firmware file you're running now.
Please use a desktop computer. The patcher needs Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on a computer, your firmware file, and a USB cable to your MicroFreak for flashing. It does not work on phones or tablets.
This browser can't check files. The patcher needs a current browser on a page served over HTTPS. Try the latest Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.
1Your firmware file
Drop in the official MicroFreak firmware, version 5.0.0.2084: MicroFreak_Firmware_Update_5_0_0_2084.mff. We don't host or link firmware. Use the copy you kept from Arturia.
2Pick your packs
Each pack's full list of features is on the MicroFreak page. A purchase covers what is released when you buy it.
3Build it
- File
- Size
- SHA-256
Quote the SHA-256 if you ever email support, so we know exactly which build you have.
This file contains Arturia's firmware. Keep it on your computer. Don't share it, post it or send it to anyone.
4Flash it
- Back up your presets, samples and wavetables in Arturia MIDI Control Center.
- Connect the MicroFreak by USB, straight to the computer (no hub), with its power supply plugged in.
- In MIDI Control Center, update the firmware and choose the file you just downloaded. Use force upgrade if it won't take it.
- Don't unplug anything until MIDI Control Center says it has finished.
If the MicroFreak won't start, or you want the official firmware back, follow the recovery guide: hold Shift + Arp + Oct/Mod while switching on, then force upgrade with the official file.
5Tell us how it went
You're in the SuperFreaker beta, so your report is what lets Essentials+Sound open to everyone. Flash the file on your own MicroFreak, play it for a while, then tell us. It's sent with the build's name and SHA-256, your computer and browser, and nothing else.
Built for MicroFreak firmware 5.0.0.2084 only. SuperFreaker is an unofficial mod and flashing it is at your own risk; see the terms. Packs are fetched from our server as small lists of changes, never as firmware.
