SuperFreaker V1
SuperFreaker, an unofficial mod for the Arturia MicroFreak. It adds effects, controls and shortcuts to the official firmware, one small patch at a time, and comes in packs so you install only what you want.
◐
Releasing soon. V1 is built, tested in an emulator and in final testing, and you can try every feature in the simulator today. Nothing is downloadable yet: Starter and Loud come first, once that exact build passes the launch gates below. The paid packs follow after a beta.
!
Don't update your MicroFreak's firmware until the compatibility table says ✅. A new official version can arrive before we've ported to it. Keep your own copy of the official firmware file you're running now.

How it will work
01
Back up
Save your presets, samples and wavetables in Arturia MIDI Control Center, and keep your own copy of the official firmware file.
02
Bring the official firmware
You supply the file. The patcher checks it is exactly 5.0.0.2084 before it changes a byte.
03
Pick your packs
The patcher runs in your browser on a desktop computer. Nothing is uploaded.
04
Flash it
Load the result with MIDI Control Center's force upgrade. Going back is the same step with the official file.
Launch gates
Played on our own unit (open)
The exact build is flashed onto our own instrument and played, not only run in the emulator.
Recovery rehearsed (open)
We back up the unit data and bootloader, then walk the recovery guide end to end, before anyone else flashes it.
Legal review (open)
A flat-fee review with an IP lawyer: the terms, the disclaimers and the name.
Ten clean beta reports (open)
Paid packs only: ten testers, no unrecovered bricks.
Tools
Free tools for the MicroFreak. They run in your browser, and nothing you give them is uploaded.
Patch Generator
Live
Roll new MicroFreak sounds that use every knob and every mod-matrix route, Original or SuperFreaker. Hear them on the 3D model, play them from a MIDI keyboard, and send them straight into your synth's preset slots over USB.
Writing to the synth needs Chrome or Edge on a desktop. Back up a slot first; the tool does it for you.
Drop in your official MicroFreak firmware file and find out whether SuperFreaker supports it. Free, and nothing is uploaded.
Arrives with the first downloads.

Explore & Learn
An exploded 3D MicroFreak that plays. Switch between stock and SuperFreaker firmware, play it with the mouse or a MIDI keyboard, record it, and watch the scope.
The simulator runs the sound engine in your browser. It isn’t Arturia’s code: it’s a model written from the manual and from what the firmware does, close enough to learn the controls on.
Every SuperFreaker feature has a lesson. Each step lights up the control to press on the model and moves on when you’ve done it.
