The short version
- No cookies, no ad trackers, no cookie banner.
- Our tools run in your browser. Files you give them (pictures, firmware) are never uploaded.
- If you sign up for email, we keep your address and the instruments you picked, and use them only to tell you about those instruments.
Visit statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn’t set cookies or use local storage, and it doesn’t build a profile of you. We see totals: pages, referrers, countries, browsers.
Email list
The signup form sends your email address and the instruments you picked to Buttondown, which runs our mailing list. You’ll get a confirmation email first. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time.
Support email
Mail to [email protected] is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to the inbox we answer from. We keep support emails only as long as we need them to help you.
Stored on your device
The site remembers your light or dark choice in your browser’s local storage. The simulators remember a few settings the same way (for example which firmware you picked). Nothing in local storage is sent to us.
MIDI
The MicroFreak Patch Generator can talk to your synth over the browser’s Web MIDI, after you allow it. Everything it reads from the synth (preset names, preset data) stays in your browser; backups of slots it overwrites are kept in your browser’s local storage until you clear them. Nothing from your synth is sent to us.
The generator itself runs on our server. Each roll sends it the style, the seed, which controls are locked and the patch on screen, and gets the new patch back. That’s all it sends; it isn’t stored or linked to you.
Fonts and video
Our fonts are served from this site, not from a font service. Videos are YouTube embeds in privacy-enhanced mode, and they load only when you press play.
